Would you like to bring some people to Wayumi?
Wayumi (“why-you-me”) is a program of Ethnos360 designed to assist churches with educating people about God’s purpose in the world and our roles as believers in His work.
In a weekend or a week, participants receive a fun, interesting, and inspiring introduction to cross-cultural church planting, starting with a Biblical overview of God’s heart and purpose in the world. Wayumi is a great place to learn about ethnolinguistic people groups who have no access to the Gospel and ways we can engage as part of His team, His Body to tell them about Him.
Missionaries, sent by their own local churches, work with Ethnos360 teams to establish thriving churches among ethnolinguistic people groups who have no access to the Gospel. (Romans 15:20)
Come to Ethnos360 Wayumi and learn:
- Why are unreached people groups important?
- Where in the world do these people groups live?
- How many of these unreached language groups of people are there?
- Why are these people still unreached with the Gospel?
- Why learn the heart language to a high level of fluency?
- How do you learn an unwritten language?
- Why is literacy important in church planting?
- How do you translate the Bible into an unwritten language?
- What is foundational Bible teaching?
- What is culture?
- What kind of skills and talents are needed?
- How can we be effective in supporting missionaries?
Wayumi is located in central Pennsylvania near Williamsport in Jersey Shore or Linden. There are several different events. The only programs where people sleep in hammocks in cabins in the woods is the summer Wayumi Expedition for Senior High teens. People who attend the other programs have heated rooms, private baths, and comfortable beds, even in the bunk rooms.
Churches bring people from all over the USA to central Pennsylvania for a weekend, or a week, to engage at Wayumi.
Wayumi Programs include:
- Wayumi Retreats(Church Groups all ages) (Winter, Spring & Fall – Friday afternoon-Sunday noon, $79 adult/$35 child, including food & lodging)
- Wayumi Course (College and Career)(content)(Spring Break or Fall – 7 Day Course)($299 pp)
- Wayumi Expedition(Senior High Youth)(Six days in June or July – $279 pp)
- Wayumi Quest(Youth Groups)(One day/same day event.)
- Wayumi Church Leaders Retreat – (Tuesday – Thursday)(Complimentary, including food and lodging.)
Wayumi is great for discovering many different aspects about missionary work among people who have not had access to the Gospel. It can be life-changing for leaders, college students, Senior High students, church youth groups, and missions committees, so bring some people with you to Wayumi events. Participants will have a better understanding of what God is doing in the world, the needs of unreached people groups, the missionaries who engage in the work, and the team of people making the ministry possible.
Let’s help as many people as possible catch the vision and engage in the work!
